How to Replace an audi car key holder Remote Key (Www.Google.Com.Pe) G28 Engine Speed Sensor

SEAT-Logo-2019.jpgIn this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is located at the edge of transmission over the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via the grey wire (T55/49) which is then sent to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is located at the edges of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to link with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can start spark and injectors accordingly.

If this sensor fails when it fails, replace audi key; mccracken-bolton-2.thoughtlanes.net, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jumped chain link in the upper chain. However, the error code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing is a bit tricky because there are two pins for the connector and they serve different purposes but the most effective method of testing it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should read around 1000 ohms. Examine for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have problems with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors are not firing at all. I took out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were soaked with gasoline and the fourth was unclean. I placed a tissue over each injector hole and when I start the engine without sparks, the 3 with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains closed. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. I get zero ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start if the G28 is disconnected and is running fine when it is connected but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. But i'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is similar to the G4 sender and both work on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate a spare in a wrecking shop or parts store. Testing them is easy - put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector). They should be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU in our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines needs to be aware of the position and speed the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of the fuel injector, etc. It utilizes a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If either of these go bad you will get codes on the diagnostic scanner that could cause engine shut down.

A damaged G28 sensor could result in an inaccurate speed counter for your gearbox or a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, and/or a misfire while in the gear. It is probable that the sensor is failing and needs to be replaced if you notice any of these symptoms. The good thing is that they are very affordable and easy to find, especially when you're looking at a Bosch model, which is what we have. Alternatively, GM's version of this component is an excellent choice.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine sensor could cause a variety of issues in your vehicle. It is a crucial part of the audi car key's transmission as it sends information to the ECU about how the car's crankshaft is spinning. This sensor can cause the transmission to fail and other components of the car to be affected.

happy-smiling-woman-with-car-key-driving-2022-11-17-00-15-14-utc-min-scaled.jpgThe G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal directly to the ECU at pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU is then able to process the signal to control fuel, timig and boost, and also sends it on to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster. You can check the sensor for failure by examining the continuity between it and the tachometer, between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection via pin T6a/1 (trace [79trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see an average resistance of 1000 ohms between these two points. This is a common part that is found across the audi tt key programming 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones could be available in wrecking yards.
