I went to see Excalibur on Friday, August 4th. I didn't know it was the day before the final performance. I was glad that I could understand the story right away because I had prepared by watching the live broadcast last Saturday. After Pendragon's death, England was in chaos and Wulfstan, a Saxon tribe, attacked. The wizard Merlin works hard to make Arthur the king. Arthur grew up with his loving father and his best friend and older brother Lancelot, and does not know that he is of Pendragon blood. Merlin appears and tells him, and Arthur pulls out Excalibur. The story progresses smoothly up to this point, but his loving father is killed by the Saxons, Arthur is manipulated by Morgan's magic, and the story becomes serious. Gueneva, who became his wife and queen, and Lancelot, his best friend and older brother, appear to Arthur as if they are in love due to Morgan's black magic, and Arthur, furious, drives them out. When the Saxons attacked, Lancelot and Gueneva returned and joined the battle, and they won, but Lancelot was killed.
