Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time with a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at a high speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will reveal precisely what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station features a handy LCD screen that displays the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of operating for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could overlook.

This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is striking and only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning robot mop and vacuum while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can do mopping and vacuuming at the same time or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot vacuum cleaner best that is among the most expensive on the market and comes with many additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other best robot hoover mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
