Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, 먹튀검증 marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started searching through old tapes and demos for an album that would feature songs that were never recorded before. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album titled Then & Now. It was the band's first album without the single track "A". The album also contained a previously unreleased track called "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from a serious laryngitis infection which hampered his singing. Downes and the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened a meeting in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the band. The band featured an appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
